Bike 14 Miles with Me On My Final Day
Sunday, June 23rd, 2019
OH WELL! If you didn't join me, it's too late now! ☺
This ride was the final leg of my 2000-ish mile, "Route 66, Albuquerque to Akron to STOP Diabetes" ride. It was on the Spinoffs MeetUp schedule (see www.meetup.com/spinoffcyclists/events/260759156/). (and also RIGHT HERE!!!! :)
If you are a member of Spinoffs, you can sign up for the ride. If not, you can temporarily join Spinoffs (or stay joined ☺) on that page or else just show up.
I'll be starting the day in Cleveland and riding to home in Bath via the towpath with a stop at Brecksville Station. If you'd like to ride part of that day with me, meet the group at Botzum Trailhead in the valley, ride together to Brecksville station, and then we can ride back together. Botzum Trailhead is on Riverview road a little South of West Bath Roda.
The Basic Plan:
Park at Botzum Trailhead about 9:30 AM Sunday, June 23rd, and join the group.
Several Spinoffs leaders will host. They are Pam, Jim, and Tom.
The group will pedal North starting at 9:45 AM, at a moderate pace along the towpath, 14 miles to Brecksville Station, where we will meet up. (I will be riding South from Cleveland). Then we ride back South together - very flat on the towpath - back to Botzum Trailhead.
OPTIONS for Riders:
I will branch off at Bath Road, 1/4 mile before Botzum Trailhead, and continue to home - about 3 miles.
There are a few options for riders:
• Ride to the trailhead and call it a day.
• Ride with me to home (ready for some hills?) , visit awhile, and then ride back (downhill) to the trailhead later.
• Return to the trailhead and then drive to my house and visit awhile.
I will be glad to get home after 42 days on the road. I hope to see you there!
