Summer of 2020
Gears and Beers Around Cape Cod
to
STOP DIABETES
2019's ride, "Route 66 to the Great Lakes to STOP Diabetes", was long and painful.
And although I had fantastic experiences and met amazing people, I didn't have as much fun as I would
have liked. And, I was away from home, Eileen, the kids, the grandkids, and Barley for 7 long weeks.
So going forward, I plan on having more fun along with the challenges of facing the unknown.
I will still do challenging rides, but will NOT be on the road for 42 straight days again!
And this year, COVID-19 changes everything. Pedaling a long ride, far from home just doesn't seem safe.
So for 2020, I will do a four-day ride on the 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙮 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙚 with a few close friends.
We will be CAREFUL!
But, with hope, good luck, and a vaccine, in 2021, El Torito (my trike) and I will again hit the road.
And we will take it a little easier! And have more FUN!
So, for my 2021 ride to raise funds and awareness for the American Diabetes Association,
I will pedal a solo, unsupported, 300-ish mile Brewery Tour by Bike in the Cape Cod area.
This tour will include the following destinations:
